Couscous or kuskus as it is known in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt is a Berber dish consisting of spherical granules made by rolling and shaping moistened semolina wheat and then coating them with finely ground wheat flour. The finished grains are about 1 mm in diameter before cooking. The Levantine variant, popular also in Israel, is about twice the diameter and made of hard wheat instead of semolina.

Carob is the legume fruit of the Carob tree, Ceratonia siliqua. It is also known as Locust bean, kharoob, and in Arabic.
The fruit is consumed in Egypt as a snack, and used to make a refreshing cold drink popular in shops and street vendors.

In Arabic culture , men or women are traditionally called in association with the name of their eldest son or daughter for a man; he's called "Father of ..." followed by the name of his eldest son or daughter and for a woman she's called "Mother of ..." followed by the name of her eldest son or daughter and here, Omm Ali means "Mother of Ali" and it's a bread , milk , butter and honey pudding which has an unsavory history
